Barton Health Expands Care in Lake Tahoe, Welcomes New Gastroenterology Physician

(South Lake Tahoe, CA) – Barton Health welcomes Dr. Azadeh Brumand, Gastroenterology specialist, to Lake Tahoe. Barton Gastroenterology (GI) utilizes state-of-the-art technology in the field of endoscopy for patients in the Lake Tahoe region. The GI team assists and performs approximately 2,000 procedures annually.

"The physicians and staff of Barton Gastroenterology proudly welcome Dr. Brumand to the practice,” said Dr. Matthew Wonnacott, Chief Medical Officer at Barton Health. "She will be a great addition to our GI team supporting our ongoing mission to enrich the care we provide to residents of our community here in the Lake Tahoe region.”

Dr. Brumand joins us from Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV. She earned her degree as a doctor of osteopathic medicine from Touro University in Nevada, and is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Brumand is fluent in Farsi. When she’s not practicing medicine, her hobbies include cooking, running, swimming, and settling in for a great movie. 

“I am very excited to join the beautiful community of South Lake Tahoe, where people enjoy their daily outdoor activities from riding a bike and walking their dog, to kayaking on the lake and skiing or snowboarding,'' said Dr. Brumand. “My mission is to promote preventive measures in this lively community in support of a longer, healthier, and happier lifestyle. In that, I plan to make every effort to deliver the highest level of care to all the people that have helped build this astonishing community.”

Dr. Azadeh Brumand joins Dr. Kimberly Evans, Dr. Dan Norman and Dr. William Reid Shepard in providing Gastroenterology services at 1139 Third Street in South Lake Tahoe. New patients are welcome.
