Advanced Robot-Assisted Surgery Now Available At Barton With New da Vinci Xi System

(South Lake Tahoe, CA) – Barton Health’s surgery department offers state-of-the-art technology with the recent acquisition of a $2.1 million da Vinci Xi Surgical System. The da Vinci Xi System features the latest in robotic-assisted surgery that is minimally invasive and can reduce patient’s time in the hospital.  Barton offers robotic surgery procedures in the areas of colorectal, gynecology, and general surgery.

With da Vinci, the surgeon is completely in control of the robotic-assisted procedure, which translates hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patient’s body. The da Vinci Xi System’s 3D-HD vision provides a highly magnified view, virtually extending the surgeon’s eyes and hands into the patient. While robotic and non-robotic surgeries each have advantages in medical care, patients report experiencing shorter procedure times, less blood loss, and decreased scarring with robotic surgery procedures.
